Synthese: Journal of Synthesis in Mathematics Education upholds strict policies against plagiarism and publication malpractice. The journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality.
- Plagiarism Screening
- All submitted manuscripts are subject to a plagiarism check using reliable plagiarism detection software before entering the peer review process.
- Manuscripts with a similarity index of more than 20% (excluding references, quotes, and methodological templates) may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected.
- Types of Plagiarism
The journal considers the following as plagiarism or unethical practices:- Copying text, ideas, figures, or data from other sources without proper citation.
- Self-plagiarism or duplicate submission (publishing the same work in more than one journal).
- Paraphrasing too closely to the original text without adequate attribution.
- Fabrication or falsification of data, sources, or results.
- Consequences
- Manuscripts found to involve plagiarism will be immediately rejected.
- If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted and an official retraction notice will be issued.
- Authors may be banned from future submissions to the journal depending on the severity of the violation.

- Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work.
- Proper citation and acknowledgment of sources must always be included.
